Inter midfielder Patrick Vieira doesn’t think he has to leave the club to earn a place in the French national team.

The World Cup is getting closer, but for France captain Patrick Vieira it may only be on his television. The Inter midfielder was not called up by coach Raymond Domenech for Les Bleus’ playoff tie against Ireland, making it unlikely he will be included in the World Cup squad.

His former coach Arsene Wenger has advised him to leave the Nerazzurri to find a club where he can play more regularly. However, Vieira doesn’t seem to have any intention of leaving coach Jose Mourinho’s team.

“I don’t think I need to leave Inter,” he said to Canal Plus.

“I will stay here and play for my chances, giving my best until June.” [+]
