David Beckham's asthma will not affect World Cup chances, says agent

David Beckham has moved to play down fears that suffering from asthma could affect the remainder of his playing career.
The former England captain was photographed using an inhaler on the sidelines bench during the Los Angeles Galaxy’s penalty shoot-out defeat by Real Salt Lake in the MLS Cup final at the weekend, the first time his condition has been brought to light.
Beckham was far from his best during Sunday’s final in Seattle, but his lethargic performance is not thought to be connected to his asthma. The 34-year-old had three painkilling injections on an ankle injury to get through the game, and was also suffering from a heavy head cold. [+]
