David Beckham battling to be fit for Major League Soccer final

David Beckham admitted last night that he is battling to be fit for Sunday’s Major League Soccer final in America.
The 34-year-old LA Galaxy star hasn’t trained since suffering bruising to his ankle in last weekend’s play-off victory and only took off a foot brace yesterday.
But he is still confident of starting the final against Real Salt Lake – his first chance of winning a trophy since joining Galaxy more than two years ago.
‘I haven’t trained since the game the other day so it’s been a bit of a worry,’ he said. ‘I had bad bone bruising. I have done a little running now, which is important. It was the first time I’d actually been able to wear trainers. [+]
